17 year old male wondering why his bangs are so stringy and thin while the rest of his hair is thick

I'm a 17 year old male, and I've recently grown out my hair to a decent length. My bangs go down to around my eyebrows, a I part them over to one side. They look full when parted to one side, but when they hang down they are really stringy and weak. I was getting my hair cut today and the lady was like "your hair is really thin here". The area was my bangs and the area immediately above them, the hair is really thin. My hair everywhere else is extremely thick and grows like a weed, is this a problem? My dad is bald, does this mean that I'm going to start balding soon or what? Is there any way to avoid this and make my bangs thicker? Thanks a lot!

What's are 'bangs'?

Hate to tell you this but it's the beginning of a receeding hair line.

As you get older, your hair line will probably go back even farther.

Do the men on your mother's side of the family have bald spots or are balding? If so, more than likely you will be also.

Well, if baldness is in your genes, then yeah, there is a really good chance that your hairline is receding. ask your dad when his started. As for treatment, you can find many hair thickeners, such as rogane or something like that at a drugstore.
