I am very worried about breakage..my hair will break if I am in the sun too long or in the tanning bed any sugestions/

Well, first off, why do you feel you need a perm? You can achieve the same look with hair spray and a curling iron. Any chemical will cause some breakage- to lessen this, get it done professionally. Get your ends trimmed regularly, and use a good shampoo and conditioner. I would talk to my stylist, though. You do know you are stuck with those curls until they grow out, right?

I don't think getting a perm will help breakage. It might make it worse, actually. I would suggest getting a different shampoo. Get one that is especially designed for breakable hair. I have a lot of trouble with breakage, so I've started using the Tresemme anti-breakage, and it's really helped. My hair is even thickening up!

Also, you can get vitamin supplements that are made for strengthening hair. I don't remember what it's called right now, though. I think they work great if you remember to take them (which I never do ;) )

MY SISTER HAD VERY THIN HAIR AND SHE TRIED A PERM AND MOST OF HER HAIR FELL OUT AND I WOULDN'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TO YOU.

SO NO DON'T GET A PERM THAT WOULD BE THE LEAST THING YOU MIGHT WANNA DO.

HAVE YOU TRIED OR THOUGHT ABOUT GETTING IT STRAIGHTEND WITH A HOT COMB OR SUMTHIN LIKE THAT??? YOU SHOULD TRY THIS OPTION

If you are going to perm your thin hair then you will have to very careful of the products that you use. B'cuz some maybe too harsh and damage your hair. So you will have to make regular visits to your hair stylist so that they can use the proper treatments and products to get your hair healthy and beautiful.

Do Not!!! I repeat, DO NOT get a perm if you have fine, thin hair!!!! I made that mistake, once. I'll never do it again.

I have fine thin light blonde hair and had a perm about 5 years ago. not only did it always frizz, but the breakage at the root and ends was unbelievable!!! It took about half an hour to tame my hair in the morning, not to forget all day maintenance. You'll end up throwing your hair in a pony tail until you have your hair relaxed or it naturally dies down. I also went horseback riding a lot so I was always exposed to the sun, big mistake!!! I had to deep condition my hair at least twice a week because of sun damage. Ever since I have NOT had perm, my hair is thicker, longer, and healthier. Stick with your straight hair, but try volumizers, rather than a perm.

Trust me, you'll regret it.

forthin hair it wont look good because it will look too flat unless its a curled perm!!
