Dark Brown hair with Chunks of highlights or thin highlights?

Ok Im having a delima. I want to highlight my hair that I have dyed dark brown. I want tou lighten it up but I want the strands to pop out. So whats in these days Dark brown hair with chunks or thin hightlights?? I have Long hair just 4 inches below my shoulders with many layers..

Go to your stylist for a conseltation. Tell her/him your dilema. Ask to see pictures and ask for suggestions. Its better to do this, then to go into your appointment and not be able to communicate with your stylist, and get something you do not like.

Highlights are so boring, everybody has them. Why not try something different, like lowlights?

But if you insist... why not combine thick with thin?

I like chunks, but since your hair is a little longer, thin and close highlights will probably look better. I think it should actually reflect your personality. If you're flamboyant and outgoing, do chunks that stand out. If you're more reserved and mellow, make it subtle with thin highlights.

I don't think that chunks of highlights that REALLY contrasts to dark brown will look good, ex: blonde. Maybe do an auburn or something dark but will somewhat differ from dark brown.
